On Monday, June 23, Iran launched a missile strike on the American Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar—the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East, where up to 10,000 troops are typically stationed. According to Tehran, six missiles were launched, Doha claims they were all intercepted.
The attack came in response to the U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities on 21 June, which effectively aligned Washington with Israel’s campaign against Tehran.

In the wake of the attack, President Donald Trump convened an emergency meeting with the country’s top military and political leadership, Fox News reported.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officially confirmed that it had carried out a "powerful missile strike on Al Udeid Air Base"—the largest American military installation in the region.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defence, for its part, stated that air defence systems had successfully repelled the attack, preventing any targets from being hit. The Qatari authorities also stressed that they reserve the right to respond to what they described as an Iranian strike.

The Pentagon confirmed that short- and medium-range missiles launched from Iranian territory struck a U.S. military base in Qatar. According to the department, no American personnel were injured in the attack. The New York Times, citing Pentagon officials, reported that the U.S. base in Qatar sustained no damage.
