Hungarian Prime Minister Magyar said that after the war in Ukraine ends, European Union countries will likely resume purchasing Russian gas.
“I believe that once the war is over, the entire European Union will return to buying Russian gas because it is cheaper. Competitiveness and geography dictate that. I cannot predict everything, but that is my feeling,” he said in an interview with the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
According to the Hungarian prime minister, economic factors and Russia’s geographic proximity could once again make Russian gas attractive to the European market in the long term.
