Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she had no knowledge of financier Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes and had never been to his island.
The statements are contained in written testimony she submitted to a US congressional committee holding hearings in the Epstein case.
“I do not recall ever meeting Mr Epstein. I never flew on his plane and did not visit his island, homes or offices. I have nothing further to add,” the published text of Clinton’s testimony says.
The hearings themselves are being held behind closed doors.
