On the evening of March 11, the Lebanese movement Hezbollah launched about 100 rockets from Lebanon toward northern Israel. As a result of the attack, air raid sirens sounded in Haifa, Galilee, and the Golan Heights.
The Israeli military said it was striking Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut and the Dahieh district in response, while simultaneously intercepting rockets launched from Lebanese territory.
According to preliminary information from Israeli medics, one person was injured. Information about possible additional casualties is still being clarified.
Israeli authorities expect that rocket attacks from Hezbollah and Iran on the evening of March 11 will be more intense than usual.
According to Israeli assessments, this is the largest Hezbollah attack on Israel since the start of the war in the Middle East. The group supports Iran in its war against Israel and the United States.
