The European Union is not yet ready to commit to specific timelines for Ukraine’s accession. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas said that member states are currently not prepared to take such decisions.
As Bild reports, Kallas’s remarks amounted in effect to a negative response to Volodymyr Zelensky, who had again pressed the day before for a fixed accession date, framing it as one of the key security guarantees for Ukraine.
