Anthropic has raised $65 billion in its latest funding round, pushing the company’s valuation to $965 billion, according to The Hill.
The developer of the Claude AI models has therefore overtaken OpenAI — the company behind ChatGPT. In its previous funding round, OpenAI was valued at $852 billion.
The Hill notes that the jump marks a dramatic surge in Anthropic’s valuation. Just three months ago, the company raised $30 billion at a valuation of $380 billion.
According to the publication, both Anthropic and OpenAI are planning IPOs in 2026. Another major player in artificial intelligence and space technology — Elon Musk’s SpaceX — has already filed for an initial public offering, becoming the first company in this group to reach that stage.
At a valuation of $1.25 trillion, the SpaceX IPO is expected to become the largest offering in Wall Street history.
