US Marshals have arrested blogger and former professional kickboxer Andrew Tate, known for his misogynistic remarks, and his brother Tristan in Miami. The arrests were reported by Reuters and the New York Post.
The brothers were detained near the James L. Knight Center, where Andrew Tate was due to hold a bare-knuckle fighting tournament.
The US Justice Department said the arrests were made “as part of extradition proceedings.” The Tates are expected to appear in federal court next week, according to a CNN source.
Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the arrests. London intends to seek the brothers’ extradition on charges involving sexual violence alleged by seven victims. Andrew and Tristan are citizens of both the United Kingdom and the United States.
British investigators accuse them of numerous offenses allegedly committed between 2010 and 2017. The charges include rape, assault, human trafficking, distributing pornography and possessing indecent images of children.
The brothers also face separate criminal charges in Romania.
The Tates visited Russia in June 2026 and attended the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, among other events. They were welcomed with a traditional loaf of bread, folk dancing and a performance of the song “Matushka.”
