Support for Alternative for Germany has reached 28% for the first time in one opinion poll, according to data from the INSA institute for Bild am Sonntag.
According to the survey, if Bundestag elections were held now, the CDU/CSU bloc would come second with 24%, followed by the SPD in third place with 14%. The Greens stand at 12%, while The Left is on 11%.
Other recent polls, meanwhile, have also recorded a steady rise in AfD support—to 25–27%, which likewise puts the party ahead of all other political forces in the country.
