Calls Are Growing for the Use of the 25th Amendment

Discussions are intensifying within the Democratic Party over possible steps to remove Donald Trump from office—either by bringing impeachment to a vote or by sending an appeal to the Cabinet urging it to invoke the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

As one senior Democrat in Congress told Axios, those conversations have accelerated markedly in response to Trump’s statements on Iran.

Earlier, calls to invoke the 25th Amendment against Trump had also begun to emerge from some Republican lawmakers.
